Doncaster School for the Deaf provides high-quality education for pupils aged 4 to 19 years, including those with additional needs. All pupils have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) to support their special educational needs.
We assess each pupil individually to determine suitability for admission and accept pupils throughout the year at any stage of their school career.
We encourage parents, carers, and local authorities to arrange a school visit to explore our provision and meet our staff and pupils. Most families find personal visits beneficial in understanding our approach and facilities.
Before admission, pupils will be invited for a short assessment period, and we work closely with previous educational settings to ensure a smooth transition.
Fees for our school are covered by the relevant local authority and the education funding agency.
The National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) provides valuable support and advice to families when considering specialist placements. Helpline:- helpline@ndcs.org.uk OR 08088 008880
