Doncaster Deaf Trust Children’s Home(s) was established in May 2002.
Dickson House was established in response to a lack of provision for deaf children requiring up to 52 weeks a year provision in an environment specialising in communication and care.
The North Flat was set up in 2013 to enhance the residential provision further.
A residential registered children’s home for sensory disabilities, Dickson House and the North Flat continues to provide planned care on a 52-week a year and 38-week educational residential basis for children who attend Doncaster School for the Deaf.
