Runners who were hoping to take part in the Round Donny Run donated money to Doncaster Deaf Trust despite the race being cancelled.
Competitors to the race were offered a refund and many decided to donate the money to the charity instead.
Alexis Johnson, executive principal of Doncaster Deaf Trust said: “We are extremely grateful to the organisers of this event and the kind runners who chose to donate their money to our charity despite the race not taking place.”
The £541.94 donation will be used to provide extra equipment for pupils and students to enhance their learning.
Tony Vout, organiser of the Round Donny Run said: “We are really pleased that a number of people who’d signed up to take part in the run chose to donate their entry fee to Doncaster Deaf Trust.
“We know that our runners will be happy to know that their money has gone to such a good cause.”
