A supported internship is a one-year course and runs during term-time, four days a week, two days at college and two days with an employer. At the end of the programme individuals will be supported to search for jobs, apply for jobs and go to interviews. The aim of a supported internship is to support learners with a disability into paid full-time employment. This is done through a work placement based at the employer's premises and studying towards appropriate qualifications, such as English and Maths.
