Little Learners Day Nursery operates within  Doncaster Deaf Trust and is situated within the premises along with the Communication Specialist College and Doncaster School for the Deaf.

The Nursery enjoys a range of specialist opportunities specifically designed to support the needs of any hearing impaired child.  The Nursery has access to an Audiologist, a Speech and Language Therapist and a Nurse who work alongside the Nursery to enhance the provision for children who are hearing impaired.

We provide the tools, support and devotion required to ensure equality of opportunity and inclusion of each child as an individual.  All staff members hold a BSL Level 1 qualification with a number qualified to BSL Level 2.

We collaborate closely with the Local Authority Teachers for the Deaf, who come into Nursery to offer support and impact on Person Centred Plans and Personalised Learning Plans in place in order to ensure each child makes progression.  We follow our strict comprehensive Inclusion Policy to ensure that care is delivered to the highest possible standards. Staff are employed to manage and co-ordinate the needs of hearing impaired children.

The nursery works closely with the Doncaster School for the Deaf to provide well planned and effective transitions for children who are offered a place for their formal school education. Children who are of pre-school age have the opportunity to work with the Doncaster Deaf School Teacher of the deaf within their peer group class for allocated sessions throughout their nursery week.
