At Little Learners Day Nursery we continually invest in our staffing team and are proud to offer a happy and motivated team of specifically selected, highly trained and experienced practitioners.

The nursery has an established Senior Management structure that is committed to ensuring the highest quality and standards. The Early Years Manager is supported by the two Assistant Early Years Managers and an Early Years Business Manager with the extended team comprising of six Early Years Room Coordinators, four of which hold an Early Years Teaching Qualification. A dedicated team of Early Years Practitioners and Assistant Early Years Practitioners effectively support the Senior Management Team in delivering excellent care and education.

Our commitment to high standards is maintained throughout our recruitment, selection, induction and ongoing training process. All childcare practitioners employed within the nursery hold childcare qualifications relevant to their position, are subject to a full interview process, and undertake a wide variety of safety checks in line with our Safer Recruitment policy. Before commencement of employment, the following procedures are completed in order to ensure their suitability.

  • Equal opportunities and health questionnaire
  • Interview and selection process
  • Verification of qualifications
  • Full identity check

All practitioners are committed to ongoing professional development and attend regular training specifically in line with the needs and requirements of individual children.

All practitioners have completed, or are attending courses in: Paediatric First Aid; Safeguarding Children; Special Educational Needs; British Sign Language/Deaf Awareness; Food Hygiene; Health and Safety and Risk Assessment.

In addition to the legal staffing ratios as outlined within the EYFS Statutory guidance, the nursery enjoys enhancements to our daily staffing though the employment of Apprentice Early Years Practitioners who are all working towards a relevant childcare qualification.
