Information for parents

We offer an employability course and embed employability skills throughout the curriculum such as team and leadership skills and good time keeping.

We invite guest speakers and employers to talk to students, on a regular basis. This widens student's knowledge of the opportunities available for progressing into a variety of sectors. Students are invited to attend Industry Visits to see various industry sectors, observe and ask questions.

Students will take part in mock interviews with professionals from a range of industries. Students are invited to carry out a work experience placement that is meaningful and relevant, linked to individual student's long term goals, interests and vocational study programme. Students are supported to succeed at work experience. Most work placements are for half a day a week for a minimum of six weeks. Our students often attend two or more placements to give a broad range of experience.
