We are proud of our long history and achievements. We provide a pupil-centered approach to education from the earliest years up to the age of 19. All pupils have an Education and Health Care Plan. Although we are based in Doncaster, we are a national resource and pupils come to us via local authorities from all over the UK. Pupils also undertake a study of the History of Doncaster in which the foundation and history of Doncaster School for the Deaf itself plays a key part. They are encouraged to develop their investigative and research skills to undertake historical enquiry and start to develop analytical and evaluation skills by looking at historical sources and different interpretations of the past. At Key Stage 4, History is an optional subject where pupils can choose to study towards a GCSE or Unit Award qualifications.
