Students at Communication Specialist College Doncaster (CSCD) have had an employability boost thanks to local businesses.

The group took part in an Employability Day where they met with four different employers from across the borough.

Suzie Beaumont, employability lead at CSCD, said: “Our students had a great day learning a range of skills from local businesses.

“Polypipe provided a great interactive session with a pipe cube challenge, a virtual tour of Polypipe and a question and answer session.

“Boxes and Packaging shared the ins and outs of their business and provided a 'build the robot' challenge, which really tested our student’s resilience.”

The NHS joined the group in the afternoon and explained various roles and the students learned about clinical and non-clinical jobs.

The last session of the day was with Strata Homes where the group learned about different job roles at Strata and importantly explored wellbeing and how to manage their own wellbeing, with helpful hints and tips.

Suzie added: “We want to say a huge thank you to Polypipe, Boxes and Packaging, NHS and Strata for taking part in this session and to Emma Mellor at Doncaster Chamber for helping to make it happen!”
