Doncaster Deaf Trust is celebrating a fitness boost for students attending Communication Specialist College Doncaster, thanks to new gym equipment provided by Skipton Building Society.

The building society generously donated £2,878 to the Trust to enhance its fitness offering for its students, which has been invested in inclusive equipment for youngsters of all abilities.

A new cable motion trainer has been introduced which can be used for strength training, improving core fitness, balance and coordination. The height adjustable equipment can be used by wheelchair users, resulting in increased fitness training options for all students at the Trust.

Alexis Johnson, executive principal at Doncaster Deaf Trust, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Skipton Building Society’s generous donation which has been vital to improving our fitness equipment on offer for young people.

“We pride ourselves on providing a range of social activities and opportunities for our students to help with their physical and mental health.

“Our multi-sports centre on campus enables them to do that with an array of safe equipment that they can use throughout the course of the day. And now, we have even more state-of-the-art fitness kit to help students of all abilities which is fantastic.”
