Trust Members and Governors
The Board of Governors is responsible for determining the broad goals for Doncaster School for the Deaf and Doncaster College for the Deaf. Members of the Board are advocates of the School/College and work for the benefit of both. The Board of Governors is a policy making governance body which makes policy level decisions to guide the organisation and a final point for appeals by staff and by pupils/students.
A staff member is elected to the Board of Governors to:
- Be a fair voice for all staff
- Represent staff at the Board of Governors meetings by sharing ideas, concerns and issues that could impact on the goals of the School and College
- Facilitate positive communication
- Connect staff to important School/College decisions
- Promote staff self advocacy
- Ensure the relationships between the Governors and staff are promoted in a positive way
