Doncaster Deaf Trust is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. The Executive Principal, Alan Robinson is responsible for reporting to the College and School governing body and its Board of Trustees.

 The 24 acre site houses the Little Learners Day Nursery, Doncaster School for the Deaf and Doncaster College for the Deaf.

The Trust Chair is Bobbie Roberts who plays an active role in the activities of the organisation.

At Doncaster Deaf Trust, our mission is to Advance Education, Training and Care for Deaf and Hearing Impaired Children and Adults and those with Communication and/or learning difficulties.

 

 

Trust Members and Governors

The Board of Governors is responsible for determining the broad goals for Doncaster School for the Deaf and Doncaster College for the Deaf.  Members of the Board are advocates of the School/College and work for the benefit of both.  The Board of Governors is a policy making governance body which makes policy level decisions to guide the organisation and a final point for appeals by staff and by pupils/students.

A staff member is elected to the Board of Governors to:

  •  Be a fair voice for all staff 
  •  Represent staff at the Board of Governors meetings by sharing ideas, concerns and issues that could impact on the goals of the School and College
  • Facilitate positive communication 
  • Connect staff to important School/College decisions
  • Promote staff self advocacy
  •  Ensure the relationships between the Governors and staff are promoted in a positive way
